We have an immediate need for a Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Coordinator to join our Denver office.

The DEI Coordinator will work directly with the Chief Talent Officer (“CTO”); the Committee on Diversity, Inclusion and Equity (“CODIE”); employee resource groups (“ERGs”); including the Women’s Leadership Initiative, Brownstein Pride and Brownstein Tapestry; as well as business teams by assisting with the implementation of the Firm’s DEI priorities and initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate CODIE meetings and agendas, and draft minutes with an emphasis on action items and accountability
  • Coordinate meetings for the CTO and CODIE co-chairs 
  • Document management for all e-mails and related matters within document management systems (i.e. iManage) to be filed within a timely basis
  • Assist ERGs with implementation and follow-up for all programming and events
  • Draft monthly theme emails re applicable topics (e.g., Jewish Heritage month) for review by the communications team, CTO and CODIE co-chairs
  • Assist in tracking multi-year monthly-theme-related to firm-wide programming
  • Assist with strategies to ensure on short/long term planning regarding; communication via newsletters, various programming, firmwide events and various other DEI presentations by office
  • Assist with firm-wide DEI programming/Karma coordination in relation to monthly themes
  • Coordinate with communication team to draft DEI emails for review by the CTO and CODIE co-chairs; re applicable emergencies/events in locales where the firm has offices
  • Assist with the Diversity Advocacy Program
  • Assist with the annual DEI budget development and with tracking the DEI budget throughout each calendar year
  • Track and submit external DEI-related and client-related diversity surveys, coordinating with our HR team as appropriate. Maintain DEI survey and sponsorship calendars 
  • Respond to RFP questions about our diversity program and develop exemplar language for proposals and other solicitations
  • Prepare monthly project/priorities status reports for Talent and DEI leadership
  •  Assist with other talent and DEI projects as needed

Required and Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2-3 years of workforce diversity, administrative, talent development, project management organizational design and psychology, human resources, or related background ideally in professional services
  • Passion for diversity, equity and inclusion 
  • High degree of emotional intelligence
  • Ability to handle confidential and highly sensitive information discreetly
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Expert-level skills with the Microsoft Office suite of software
  • Self-starter, someone who will take ownership of duties and responsibilities and drive processes forward
  • Strong analytical skills to understand and report statistical data
  • Good organizational skills, detail-oriented and exceptional judgment
  • Ability to work effectively in a dispersed team environment
  • Ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects on tight deadlines 
  • Experience in a law firm or the legal industry is helpful, but not required 

Compensation and Benefits: Brownstein Hyatt Farber Schreck offers a benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401k + match, profit sharing, and vacation/sick/personal time off in addition this role pays overtime for hours worked above 40 per week. Hybrid schedule offered.  Brownstein offers a competitive salary (commensurate with experience), ranging from $50,000 - $75,000.
