The Opportunity

The Social Media Coordinator (SMC) role at Method Communications is a junior level role that will be both strategic and tactical and serves both as a counselor and a practitioner. In addition to a solid understanding of various social media channels, the SMC must demonstrate the ability to think strategically about content, optimization, audience growth and other key factors of a social media program. The SMC develops, implements and supports social media strategies for clients. The Social Media Coordinator will work as part of Method’s Marketing Team to maintain a best-in-class social media practice.


Responsibilities

  • Assist clients in building an engaging brand presence across various social media channels through compelling content and audience engagement

  • Write compelling social media copy and develop weekly/monthly content calendars

  • Manage social media channels for clients, including the creation of proactive and reactive social content, and community management and growth

  • Support Method’s social media channels, leveraging our brand guidelines to help build our profile in the Salt Lake City, San Francisco, New York and tech PR and marketing communities

  • Measure, analyze and report on social media initiatives, insights and trends

  • Support the Marketing and PR teams with research and insights to inform strategy briefs and new business proposals

  • Stay on the cutting edge of industry trends, new platforms and best practices

  • Participate in new business pitches, representing Method’s social media team and recommending appropriate social services to potential new clients


What We’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience in social media in an agency or brand environment

  • Experience managing all major social platforms, including best practices, general platform policies, user behavior trends, paid campaigns (Linkedin, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, Instagram)

  • Able to articulate how social media channels can work together with wider marketing and communications strategies

  • Able to develop insights from social listening tools

  • Eager to learn and willing to jump in on new projects that will provide learning opportunities (i.e. managing paid social, working with influencers, performing B2B social audits)

  • Experience with social analytics across channels, including how to find, interpret, and simplify results for clients

  • Knowledge of specific rules of engagement for brands/advertisers

  • A good collaborator and teammate, supporting client leads to help Method succeed with our clients. Open to receiving feedback and willing to help where needed

  • A strong communicator, keeping team leads apprised of the status of your work

  • Strong public speaker who is able to explain the core concepts of social media to non-experts

  • Understands the PESO model and how social works within it and supports it

  • Understands the basic tenets of SEO

  • Possesses the ability to think critically, plan, and execute resourcefully, across multiple tasks


Salary Ranges

We believe all employees should be rewarded competitively and equitably, using practices that are simple and transparent. We’ve provided the following salary ranges for the locations we operate in below due to their state regulations. If your market is not listed below, your specific salary band will be discussed during the recruitment process. Final compensation for this role will be determined by a number of factors including candidate’s education, relevant work experience and geographic location.


  • State of Colorado: $39,606 - $48,000

  • State of New York: $43,088 - $57,702

  • New York City: $57,702 - $64,868

  • State of California: 41,220 - $48,000

  • State of Washington: 42,313 - $48,000


Work Arrangement

The role can be performed fully remote in the United States or hybrid if near a hub office in San Francisco, Salt Lake City, or New York City. This role is open to candidates in the following states: AL, CA, CO, CT, GA, IL, KS, MA, MD, ME, NJ, NM, NY, OR, SC, TX, UT, VA, and WA.
