Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • HR Generalist runs the daily functions of the HR department including recruiting, hiring, onboarding, administering benefits and leaves of absences, responding to unemployment benefits claims, wage and employment verifications and enforcing company policies and practices.
  • Performs routine tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to compensation, benefits, leave of absence; disciplinary matters; disputes and investigations; performance and talent management; productivity, recognition, and morale.
  • Handles employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the appropriate staff.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Works with Payroll and ensures employee payroll and Time data is accurate in ADP Workforce Now HRIS.
  • Manages multi-state Workers’ Compensation, Unemployment claims and leaves of absences in accordance with State and local laws.
  • Maintains digital files of employees, documents, benefits, disciplinary, and other records

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Proficiency with ADP Workforce Now.
  • Strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience working remotely, comfortable with virtual social gatherings, instant messaging, video conferencing, and project management.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize efforts based on business needs
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to think out-of-the-box with strong problem-solving skills.
  • Maintains knowledge of strategic and creative sourcing techniques
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Experience with multi-state employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Experience working remotely
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology or related field
  • 3+ years of Generalist experience (preferably in the medical service industry or engineering)

Physical Requirements:

  • On site (office settings)
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
  • Ability to go up and down flights of steps.
  • Ability to traverse various areas of the facility (including unpaved areas, dirt paths, uneven terrain, etc.).
  • Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.)
  • Reaching by extending hand(s) or arm(s) in any direction.
  • Finger dexterity required to manipulate objects with fingers rather than with whole hand(s) or arm(s), for example using a keyboard.
  • The ability to communicate information and ideas using the spoken and written word so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Ability to use a visual display terminal with continuous wrist movement on a keyboard.
  • The ability to observe, identify, inspect details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
  • • Ability to hear within normal range.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at a time without assistance.
  • Limited travel for attendance of training or conferences
