POSITION SUMMARY:

The Marketing Specialist role at Dan and Jerry’s Greenhouses provides an opportunity to utilize knowledge, skills, and abilities to drive and enhance the company’s brand, both internally and externally.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (comprehensive, but not limited to):

• Campaign Development and Management
  1. Define and drive marketing campaigns to drive demand/leads for sales.
  2. Coordinate with sales managers on specific targets to help achieve strategic growth goals.
  3. Champion the usage and workflows of our customer relationship manager (CRM)
  4. Create and manage the campaign plan.
• Digital Marketing
  1. Update and manage website content and campaigns.
  2. Research SEO improvements for content and/or paid search.
  3. Update and manage interactions on social media (Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook)
  4. Analyze analytics to improve digital engagements and strategies.
• Content Marketing
  1. Write blog and email content that focus on industry thought leadership and product positioning.
• Marketing Communications
  1. Develop marketing collateral that positions product and clearly articulates our value proposition.
  2. Determine and execute Public Relations and Advertisement strategy.
  3. Aid in the market launch of new products to the market.
  4. Manage assets and brands.
• Creative & Design
  1. Assist in designing marketing communications assets.
  2. Coordinate production internally or externally for any creative and design needs.
• Strategic Marketing
  1. Collect and analyze prospect and customer data, suggesting areas to optimize for improved engagement and retention.
  2. Work with sales and market management to conduct market research, segmentation studies and VOC activities to understand key markets and how the customers perceive our messaging and communication strategies.
• Marketing Excellence
  1. Collaboratively with Sales and Marketing Manager, create and manage marketing budget.
  2. Establish clear, measurable marketing goals, metrics and analytics that support region’s sales & profitability goals (KPI’s, ROI)

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

• Bachelor’s degree in marketing, Communications or Business Administration.
• Completion of an internship or related program.
• Managing campaigns and tracking metrics across digital channels: web, blog, email, video, social, search.
• Experience using CRM.
• Experience with Lucidpress, Adobe Suite for graphic design or comparable (not required).
• Disciplined time management - get things done.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Strong written and oral communications skills with the ability to present at multiple levels in the organization.
• Knowledge of social media and digital technologies / platforms.
• Accuracy and attention to detail
• Comfortable with math and calculations.
• Proficient with Microsoft office products, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.

Dan & Jerry's Greenhouses started as a local greenhouse in the 70's and has grown to be the 11th largest greenhouse in the United States. We have growing operations in MN, MI, SD, IA, and MO and sell our superior quality annuals, perennials, trees, shrubs, and bedding products throughout the Midwest to the East Coast.

Periodic travel (air and driving) is required for this position, primarily to Dan and Jerry’s Iowa, South Dakota, and Michigan growing ranges. Valid driver’s license required.
