Our client is looking for a forward-looking, proactive, and collaborative Copywriter/Editor in the DC-Metro area for this hybrid-work position.

As COCO B.’s Copywriter/ Editor, you work creatively across multiple brands and products within our organization in addition to being a contributing member of our client-facing creative suite. COCO B. has become a trusted partner to some of the world’s most powerful brands including Amazon, Walmart, Aflac, and a long list of others. In this role - in addition to joining a fun, high-energy, supportive team of ambitious creatives in-house - you will have the opportunity to work hand-in-hand with global thought leaders to design and project key messages and experiences. YOUR EXPECTATIONS:

• Coordinate online or print publishing cycles and manage content areas.
• Set publication standards/project timelines and establish goals/expectations.
• Suggest verbiage/language and generate headline ideas in alignment with the targeted audience’s preferences.
• Oversee layout for event and company collateral (artwork, design, photography) and check content for accuracy and errors.
• Proofread, edit, and improve verbiage/language for various pieces.
• Comply with media law and ethical guidelines.
• Meet deadlines and budget requirements.
• Develop press releases, media kits, and media pitches.
  

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

These are some of the required skills and experiences you’ll need for success in this role:

• BS or BA degree in Journalism, mass communications, marketing or in a related field.
• Proven work experience as a copywriter and/or editor.
• Portfolio of work (professional or otherwise) demonstrating range and ability to adopt different voices, tones, and styles of writing to support specific brand and organizational objectives.
• Portfolio of work demonstrating range and ability to write a variety of forms of copy including blogs, articles, newsletters, promotional copy, invitations, and social media content among others.
• Strong proofreading skills and excellent turnaround time
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfortable and confident in prioritizing and multitasking.
