Senior Data Scientist

Location: Fully Remote (Boston, MA)

Overview:

Alivia Analytics is seeking a technically adept Data Scientist with a strong foundation in SQL, Python, and machine learning to join our rapidly expanding team focused on combating healthcare fraud. This role demands an individual with a profound ability to manipulate and analyze large datasets, develop sophisticated fraud detection models, and leverage advanced analytics techniques to transform healthcare business practices. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth technical expertise to support our mission of ensuring healthcare claims are accurately processed, thus generating savings that can directly benefit patient services. As a pivotal team member, you will not only be involved in the technical development of fraud models and predictive analytics but also play a crucial role in articulating our technological innovations to both users and leadership. Key Areas of Responsibility

• Utilize advanced data management techniques to expedite the onboarding of new clients.

• Design and implement sophisticated models to detect, analyze, and mitigate healthcare fraud, employing an extensive range of SQL queries and machine learning algorithms.

• Dive deep into healthcare claim fraud scenarios, employing our comprehensive analytics toolkit to help clients identify and tackle significant volumes of fraudulent activities.

• Articulate complex technical concepts with clarity to both technical experts and business stakeholders.

• Execute intricate analytics projects, making complex data comprehensible and actionable for business users.

• Share technical knowledge and insights, fostering a culture of learning and collaboration both within the team and with external partners.

 

Key Skills & Attributes

• Strong proficiency in SQL, including the ability to craft complex queries.

• Expertise in Python, with solid experience in utilizing frameworks like sklearn and pandas for data science projects.

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively in collaborative settings.

• High degree of motivation and autonomy, coupled with an unwavering commitment to delivering quality outcomes.

• An inherent curiosity and drive to continuously refine and enhance technical processes and methodologies.

• Exceptional problem-solving skills, with a readiness to take on design and development challenges.

• A clear understanding of, and adherence to, security and privacy standards relevant to data science and analytics.

 

Basic Qualifications

• MS in a technical field such as computer science, statistics, or a similar quantitative discipline. Relevant professional experience may substitute for education.

• Proven expertise in data science, evidenced by a track record of impactful projects.

• Exceptional skills in SQL and Python, with significant experience applying these tools in data analytics or data science contexts.

• Strong communication abilities, with proficiency in conveying technical concepts to diverse audiences.

• Must be a legal resident or US citizen, with residency in the United States and the capability to work remotely.

 

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with healthcare, insurance, and medical terminology is advantageous, particularly if accompanied by practical experience with industry-specific data.

• Previous roles that involved the audit or investigation of healthcare claims are highly valued.

• Experience managing and analyzing large datasets is preferred.
