The Marketing and Communications Associate performs a variety of writing, editorial and administrative duties to support the operations of Marketing and Communications on behalf of the Agency and its programs and services. Using strong writing, editing and proofreading skills, familiarity with social media platforms and electronic news distribution, and experience with various media outlets, the position represents the organization in a warm, yet professional manner when working with members, clients, staff, board members, donors, media and outside organizations, always consistent with our organization’s tone and mission.


Marketing and Communications Associate Essential Responsibilities:

  • Create strategic content for Agency social media platforms.
  • Ideate improved project management and coordination amongst Marketing team members.
  • Produce monthly e-newsletter and e-blasts including creating and maintaining distribution lists.
  • Utilize Monday.com to efficiently manage and track marketing projects, ensuring timelines are met and workload is effectively distributed among team members.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless event execution.
  • Work with vendors to maintain website content.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and brand representation Alpert JFS/Levine JFRS.
  • Research media outlets and maintain updated media lists and editorial calendars for television, newspapers, radio, bloggers, industry experts, thought leaders and influencers.
  • Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, blog posts and other media materials.
  • Seeks out public relations opportunities by building relationships with other departments, board members, volunteers, and community partners.
  • Responsible for managing the local production and use of internal print collateral and materials.
  • Manage the editorial and production calendar for the Marketing and Communications department.
  • Translate qualitative data into recommendations and plans for revising social media strategies.
  • Builds photo archive by shooting Agency activities/events and scouting photo opportunities across the organization.
  • Collaborates with and supports Development on appeals, events, and other projects.
  • Assist in production of Transformations magazine and the Annual Report by creating, editing and proofreading content.
  • Provide support with all aspects of special events including but not limited to pre-event registration, per and post release, emails, committee support and landing pages.
  • Assist in the organizing of promotional events and traditional or digital campaigns.
  • Other Responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements:

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree (BA) from four-year college or university in journalism, English, marketing, communications or similar related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2-4 years’ experience in a similar role; experience in a nonprofit environment helpful.
  • Proficiency in Google Workspace and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiar with Palm Beach County media outlets and news publications preferred.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a diligent eye for detail, language, flow, and grammar to contribute to content creation and to respond to social media interactions.
  • Proven ability to demonstrate a brand voice.
  • Proven ability to work and think independently, a detailed-oriented, motivated self-starter.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong interpersonal, listening, written, and verbal communication skills.
