About the Position
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role assisting in accounting and finance related activities. Position will report to the CEO and will be responsible for creating accurate and timely financial records for the organization. The Senior Accountant will support the closing process, maintain the general ledger, and reconcile Balance Sheet accounts.
Responsibilities/Standards of Practice
- Detailed-Project oriented, excellent communication skills, ability to adapt to changing environment, ability to work independently.
- Obtain and maintain a thorough understanding of the financial reporting and general ledger structure and accounting related matters including chart of accounts and general ledger.
- Support the month and year-end close process; prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations.
- Responsible for Bank account management and cash funding accounting.
- Analyze data from Network and other partners to ensure accuracy throughout process.
- Support the preparation of quarterly and annual financial statements and related audit support.
- Reconciles reimbursement payments for social security member benefits.
- Reconcile and maintain tight controls over cash inflows and outflows.
- Support Finance Chief with special projects and workflow process improvements.

- Managing and supervising all functions and procedures of the accounting department
Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is required
- Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
- General accounting practice and preference in healthcare, accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, financial reports and balance sheet preparation.
- Preferably have previous medical field expertise in working in a health insurance company or HMO plan with authorizations, patient referrals and or customer service sales.
- Must know QuickBooks Professional.
- Proficient in all functions of computer office use including Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.), crystal reporting and other day to day software tools.
