Proposal Specialist

The Role

We have an exciting career opportunity for a Proposal Specialist to join our growing DSI Tech team! As the Proposal Specialist you will work for one of the most successful, technology solutions providers in the nation. This position will be based in Ashburn, VA with a hybrid work schedule. It is hybrid and requires you to work 3 days in the office and 2 days remote. You will be working with a professional team of proposal developers. You will be responsible for coordinating and developing winning proposals for our SLED and Federal customers.

Your Responsibilities

• Build effective working relationships with your internal Contracts & Proposals (C&P) team members as well as with your direct Supervisor
• Drive the RFP response in review, editing and submission
• Will own the tracking of all timelines, deadlines and components of the Request for Proposal (RFP) and/or Bid through to submission deadline.
• This will include RFP amendments, questions, pre-bid activity, notice of intent and any additional requirements
• Development of compliant proposal response template using existing templates or creation of a new template based on RFP requirements.
• Populate template with mix of existing boiler plate, program management and engineering provided content.
• Partner with Inside and Outside Sales Reps., Program Managers, and technical Network Engineers in the formulation of RFPs assigned
• Design and execute all desktop publishing using MS Office to include charts, tables, canned text and scripts, headers, spacing control and graphics

What You Need For This Role

• Minimum 4-6 years of hands on experience in proposal and/or technical writing (especially in the persuasive context; proposal writing, journalism, communications, business writing or similar fields in order to write in a very persuasive manner (is required)
• Education: Associates degree in Business Management or related field (required). Minimum post High School or GED required.
• High level of skill in the use of the English language in terms of speaking and conversing fluently and fluent English writing skills with no grammar problems.
• Experienced in MS Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat to support formatting compliance.
• Results-driven, detail oriented, and passionate about RFP development, coordination of all the components of this process.
• Effective decision-making and time-management skills
• Demonstrate a high level of confidentiality in all aspects of conducting business
