Schedule:

Monday - Friday, 40hrs a week Salaried - On Site- New Britain, CT


Education Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree in a related field
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in fund development and public relations or other relevant expertise as approved by the Chief Executive Officer.
  • Grant Writing experience with ability to create and assimilate information into a persuasive and powerful grant proposal.

Work Experience Requirements:

  • Effective writing skills for grant writing and general agency correspondence.
  • Excellent public relations skills that will positively present the agency.
  • Must complete the Agency's Employee Training.
  • Must have a valid Driver’s License, be insurable with Agency carrier and have own vehicle to use, as needed.

Physical Requirements:

  • Occasional lifting to at least ten lbs.
  • Vision must be good or corrected to normal to perform normal job duties.
  • Hearing must be good to have the ability to understand information to perform job duties.
  • Ability to read and write in English in order to process paperwork and follow up on any actions necessary.
  • Sitting for extended periods of time and complete repetitive tasks like answering phones and typing.

Primary Purpose:

The person in this position will cooperatively develop a marketing and fundraising plan with the Board of Directors of CCARC, Inc., the CCARC Foundation, and the Chief Executive Officer to promote the agency’s mission to current and prospective donors. This will be accomplished through special events, grant writing, social media, mailings, media sources, the annual appeal, CCARC website, newsletters, annual reports, and other means as appropriate. This person will develop relationships with current and prospective donors, as well as corporate and community partners to encourage ongoing support of CCARC. This position will function according to the policies established by the CCARC Board of Director’s and fully implement CCARC’s mission.

Essential Functions:

  • Oversee all components of Development and Fundraising and work collaboratively with Marketing and Communication staff to collectively implement effective fundraising events, outreach, grant writing, donor development, branding, social media, and other tasks as is appropriate.
  • Develop cooperatively with both Board of Directors and Chief Executive Officer a marketing and development plan to promote the agency’s services to prospective donors.
  • Meet with respective staff to identify service area needs and submit state and private grant proposals to the appropriate funding sources. Grant writing may be heavy at certain times of the year.
  • Develop and implement annual fundraising events including sponsorship programs, logos, invitations, programs, entertainment, and overall theme/message to promote the work of CCARC and raise funds through sponsorships, raffle, auctions, and ticket sales.
  • Manage the development, build out, and upkeep of agency website and social media.
  • Work with volunteer groups to provide an enriching experience while accomplishing projects benefiting CCARC and the individuals served. (i.e., United Way Year of Caring)
  • Develop and implement a publicity schedule to ensure that agency’s news is generated to the media and CCARC constituents.
  • Implement and manage the Constituent Relationship Management software (Raiser’s Edge), ensure accurate and comprehensive data input and analysis, utilize data to aid the CEO in donor cultivation, foundation and funders reporting, and evidence-based performance.
  • Present development, fundraising and marketing efforts and performance to the Board of Directors and Foundation Board of Directors.
  • Assist with other agency activities as determined appropriate by the Chief Executive Officer
