The Account Manager serves as the primary point of contact for market participants; Communicates with market participants to timely resolve questions and issues regarding ERCOT grid operations and market operations; Facilitates discussions between market participants and ERCOT subject matter experts or between ERCOT departments when needed to resolve an issue; Educates market participants on ERCOT market rules, processes, and procedures.
JOB DUTIES
- Demonstrates leadership in collaborative problem solving by facilitating resolution of market participants' day-to-day ERCOT markets and grid operations issues
- Assists market participants in meeting registration and qualification requirements
- Provides guidance and advice to market participants regarding ERCOT market rules, processes and procedures while maintaining strict confidentiality
- Establishes, grows, and maintains positive business relationships between ERCOT and assigned market participants
- Supports and encourages team members to achieve a high standard in professionalism, client interaction and personal development
- Assists with projects and process improvements, as necessary, to resolve market participants' business issues and/or to improve ERCOT's internal functions
- Assists in the creation and maintenance of documentation, procedures, and training materials for Client Services personnel
- Identifies opportunities and contributes to the design and delivery of market education training to market participants
- Develops and shares expertise in ERCOT markets and grid operations
- Coordinates stakeholder processes to support ERCOT and market participants
- Maintains and expands knowledge of ERCOT market protocols, ERCOT's operations and business functions as an effective liaison between ERCOT and market participants on a wide range of subjects across most of ERCOT's functions
- Applies ERCOT protocols and business procedures consistently with all market participants under strict confidentiality
- Guides communication between market participants and various ERCOT departments and promotes effective interdepartmental working relationships and assists in developing mutual team goals
- Requires minimum 5 years job related work experience in excess of degree requirements
- Requires minimum 5 years of experience in the electric utility industry and advanced understanding of competitive electric markets and operation of an interconnected transmission and distribution system
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Knowledge of electric grid operations.
- Experience and knowledge in wholesale and retail electricity markets.
- Understanding of financial settlement of electricity markets.
- Client Services and/or account management experience in the power industry.
- Experience with Microsoft Products (Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook)
- Bachelor's Degree: Business, Accounting, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (Required)
- A combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge to a major in such fields is required
- Employees will be required to be on-site in Taylor, TX at minimum 2 days per week, or more, as needed based on the business needs as determined by management.
- On-site schedules are flexible or may be rotated based on business needs as determined by the Manager.
- Remote work is required to be performed from your Texas residence.
- Employees may opt to work on-site more than required or 100% of the time.
Expected Salary Range:
$92,726 - $157,616
