Job Description
COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR, School of Engineering (SoE), to report to the director of communications and serve as a core member of the SoE’s communications team. Will help shape and execute the communications strategy for the SoE; develop and implement communications, marketing, and outreach efforts to support and promote the SoE to internal and external audiences; play a leading role in carrying out the day-to-day operations of the communications team; be responsible for the daily review and curation of all SoE-related content and news stories; produce and edit content for various school channels; develop and implement new workflows to ensure all operations within the SoE communications team are organized and efficient; manage the school’s main email accounts; create content for and maintain on-campus digital signage; assist with planning, organizing, and marketing special events as needed; oversee reporting and analytics; and perform other duties as requested.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree; at least one year of communications experience; excellent written and oral communication, organizational skills, and project management skills; comprehensive knowledge of digital communications platforms and experience working across social media channels, web platforms (specifically WordPress) and email management systems (e.g., MailChimp); high-level proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (specifically Photoshop); initiative; flexibility; attention to detail; experience and track record prioritizing multiple work assignments and meeting deadlines; and discretion and judgment with sensitive information/issues. Must be able to work independently; juggle multiple projects, integrate constructive feedback, and meet sometimes competing deadlines; and collaborate across all organizational units in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
