Job Summary
Elmhurst University invites applications for a part-time Lecturer in the Department of Communication and Media. In addition to teaching, the position will contribute creatively to the further development of the Multimedia Journalism major. Interest in developing curriculum is a plus. This position is not a remote position. 
Essential Functions
Subjects to be taught include reporting, investigative journalism, and writing and editing for print, digital, audio, video, and emerging platforms. Teaching load is 4-5 classes per academic year.

Other Duties and Responsibilities  
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or higher in the field is required
  • Evidence of outstanding teaching or teaching potential
  • Commitment to creating inclusive learning environments for a diverse student body
Preferred Qualifications
    • Five or more years of professional experience in reporting for multimedia platforms
    • Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS)


Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
Employee is subject to indoor work, protected from weather conditions. Work is sedentary in nature and involves exerting up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently/constantly in order to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move object. Occasional evening and weekend obligations.
