About Foreign Policy

Foreign Policy was founded in 1970 with the intention of leading a root-and-branch rethink of how the United States engages with other countries. We showcase the smartest ideas and analysis on global affairs, written by experts and practitioners of international relations. Although FP exists on many platforms—our website, quarterly print edition, award-winning podcasts, live events, and analytics division—we will always be first and foremost a magazine of politics and ideas, covering parts of the world underserved in other English-language media and bringing a nuanced, global perspective to more familiar stories.
