Deputy Investigations Editor
Deputy Investigations Editor
The Times-Picayune | The Advocate -- Louisiana’s largest newspaper, with newsrooms in New Orleans, Baton Rouge and Lafayette -- is seeking a deputy editor to help lead a team of six investigative reporters. It’s a great group: We won a Pulitzer Prize in 2018 for a series that exposed the racially disparate impacts of a Louisiana law, birthed in hatred, that allowed for non-unanimous juries. More recently, we’ve exposed catastrophic failures at the Louisiana agency charged with protecting children; we’ve poked holes in the proposed solutions for solving the state’s property insurance crisis; and we showed how the signature rebuilding program after Hurricane Katrina shortchanged poorer homeowners. We look for stories all over the state, and our hope is to shine a light into some of Louisiana’s darkest corners. We’re looking for a smart, kind, collaborative editor who can coax the best work out of our talented team. Pay and benefits are competitive. We are seeking to build a more diverse workplace.
The Advocate is an equal employment opportunity employer, committed to recruiting, developing, and promoting a diverse workforce while providing unique opportunities and career paths for our employees. We encourage applicants of all backgrounds and experience levels to apply.
