Jefferson Public Radio (JPR) is seeking a senior producer for its weekday one-hour civic affairs program, The Jefferson Exchange. The producer works in collaboration with the program’s host to steer the journalistic and creative direction of the show as a reflection of life in Southern Oregon and far Northern California. The Jefferson Exchange engages JPR’s audience in the issues that are important to people – current news, solving long-term community problems, regional politics, arts and culture.  The producer is responsible for overall editorial planning, scheduling guests and providing background material on guests to the host.  The producer identifies newsworthy and interesting topics and facilitates interviews with newsmakers and civic leaders to address those topics.
