The Atlantic seeks a Concierge for our New York City office.

This position is responsible for the smooth operation of our New York office (located in Soho), home to about 160 employees spread across two floors. The ideal candidate is outgoing, detail-oriented, and passionate about creating a warm and functional work environment for our colleagues. The person in this position will diligently tend to recurring responsibilities of the role while proactively searching for opportunities to improve office operations and culture.

This role reports to the Office Manager of The Atlantic. 

Specific responsibilities of this job include:

  • Present and available at the reception area as this will be your primary workspace
  • Ensuring a friendly and smooth check-in process including registering guests ahead of time with building security
  • Maintaining functionality, organization and aesthetics of the entire office with a focus on common spaces and conference rooms
  • Ordering and maintaining office supplies and snacks, and ensuring these are kept well-stocked and clean, and are meeting the needs of staff.
  • Implementing and maintaining a mail-distribution process to manage shipping, receiving, and circulation
  • Proactively keeping the Office Manager up to date regarding needed office improvements, repairs, and maintenance issues
  • Performing some Executive Assistant duties for Executives located in the New York office (such as expense reports, invoices, and meeting scheduling)
