Program Officer, IFCN (Code of Principles)
The Poynter Institute’s International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) is searching for a Program Officer.
The Program Officer will play an important professional role in carrying out the existing International Fact-Checking Network Code of Principles program with an eye toward continuous growth, detail, and increasing scale. This person will have a demonstrable passion for transparency and accountability in media, dedication to supporting the global fact-checking community by upholding higher standards in the field, and commitment to working towards sustainable development for fact-checking organizations across the globe.
IFCN signatories include over 140 small, mid-sized, and well-known global media brand organizations, hailing from over 65 countries. The incumbent appreciates and is highly respectful towards this diverse international portfolio of IFCN signatories, with a general understanding of the variety of news ecosystems they work within. This role will support both renewing applications and new fact-checking applicant organizations in their pursuit to meet the Code of Principles standards.
Please consult the job description for further information. An understanding of international fact-checking experience communicating across multiple time zones and familiarity with respective media landscapes is preferred. Excellent command of English is required.

The position is in St. Petersburg, FL, and the person will work in a hybrid work model.
Relocation benefits can be negotiated as necessary.
This position is contingent upon availability of continued grant funding.
Annual salary range: $45,000-$55,000, based on skills and experience
