The position available is education and sports reporter. The beat reporter covers Sheridan College and three K-12 school districts in Sheridan County, along with localizing state and national education news. Additionally, the reporter will assist our full-time sports reporter with sports coverage during the school year, typically on weekends.
We’re looking for someone with the chops to dig into data, ask difficult questions and tell the “special sauce” features about youth in our community. A strong understanding of community journalism is a must for anyone applying.
The Press office sits a block away from the center of Sheridan, with ample access to everything the county has to offer, including outdoor adventures, a hopping live music and craft brew scene, cozy coffee shops and constant activities from which to fill a weekend to-do list.
