Editorial and Production Coordinator (REMOTE)
Truly*Adventurous is seeking an Editorial and Production Coordinator to join our team. This role offers an early-career individual with an interest in nonfiction writing/media/ publishing the opportunity to greatly contribute to Truly*Adventurous’s ongoing growth and success. This is a remote position.
The Editorial and Production Coordinator will oversee core components of our production process as well as the upkeep of our site. This individual will have their hand in a bit of everything we do, with a job that includes coordinating story schedules and publication dates and maintaining systems, workflows, and guides to ensure that we approach our processes in a consistent and efficient manner. The role is fully integrated with our team and as such may also have input into website management, newsletter creation, social media, and editorial. We’re looking for someone who wants to be part of the exciting future T*A is building, enjoys a flexible and fast-paced team environment, and possesses a deep love of stories!
This is a part-time role that will report to one of T*A’s senior editors. Note: Truly*Adventurous is a remote-first company. Applicants can work from anywhere in the United States.

Responsibilities

Help T*A run efficiently

Manage editorial and production calendars and coordinate monthly lineups

Oversee contracts and payments for writers and designers, among others

Maintain deadlines and coordinate workflows between editors, copyeditors, designers, illustrators, audio producers, and others. Coordinate with staffers and interns to help with the promotion of stories

Oversee and update the T*A homepage and stories across platforms

Share responsibility for the production of social and newsletter content

Work with publishing partners to ensure smooth transitions during licensing and syndication processes

Maintain story copyright workflow

Coordinate team meetings and schedule appropriate follow-ups
Requirements

Previous experience (internship, fellowship or otherwise for 1+ year) working in media production at a website, blog, newsletter, newspaper, magazine, or elsewhere

Interest in overseeing life cycles of narrative longform stories through pre- and post-publication tasks in a fast-paced workplace environment

Experience working in a CMS (Squarespace, etc.) and some familiarity with Mailchimp and web optimization preferred

A passion for longform narrative storytelling and introductory knowledge of the narrative journalism industry

Confidence in your ability to multitask and comfort communicating across a team to get information and assets you need

Compensation starts at $20-$25/hr, depending on experience.
