WFSU Public Media’s award-winning newsroom has an exciting opportunity available for a multimedia reporter-- someone who has an ear and eye for great stories, isn’t afraid to ask tough questions and is committed to pushing the envelope when it comes to reporting.

This position is based in Tallahassee, FL— a beautiful city where nature takes center-stage, with a capital where the intrigue never stops, the stories are endless, and in a state where the weird, wild and funky is our normal! (NO STATE INCOME TAXES).
WFSU Public Media is NPR/PBS for North Florida and South Georgia, serving 13 counties across the region.
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a breaking news/general assignment reporter/producer
- Coordinates equipment and multimedia platforms to increase the reach of productions completed by the news team
- Plans and produces local news stories and feature productions for broadcast across radio, television and web;
- Conducts interviews in the field, including some state government/legislative reporting for broadcast
- Provides support and participation for special events and productions as assigned
- Research story ideas/sources
- Report, write, edit, and produce stories for broadcast and digital
- Aid in the development and production of podcasts
Preferred Qualifications:
- A great attitude, sense of humor, and passion for storytelling
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure
- experience in audio/digital and video production and lighting
- Experience in writing and copy editing
- Experience producing long-form, narrative journalism in broadcast and digital formats
- Ability to adapt the material to fit a variety of platforms—social media and digital.
- Knowledge of journalism ethics, rules and procedures
- Demonstrated ability to produce multimedia projects including illustrations, graphics, video, audio and digital
