We’re seeking a great colleague who shares our commitment to making journalism better, and making newsrooms better places to work. In this role, you’ll work closely with our senior leaders and with prospective clients to meet with and understand the training and professional development needs in journalism and journalism-adjacent organizations. In consultation with the potential customers, you’ll help identify the right Poynter educators and expertise to meet their needs, and create proposals and contracts to help clients understand how Poynter Partnerships will deliver exceptional solutions as they serve communities and thrive in the media marketplace.
In this role, you’ll need to have a strong understanding of newsroom functions and keep a sharp eye on trends in the media industry. You’ll be a great listener and use your research skills to gain a thorough understanding of the clients as you help to develop proposals. You’ll collaborate with Poynter’s journalism experts to help them be effective and responsive to our clients. You are highly organized and will maintain accurate and detailed records of all communications with clients, draft agreements, monitor changes and deadlines. You’ll be expected to keep confidential information private-- including financial arrangements. And you will have a positive, eager-to-help attitude.
