**The Public Relations Specialist is a key member of the Public Relations team, partnering with senior leaders and internal business partners to support and execute strategic direction of Capital Group/American Funds' external communications.
The Specialist helps Capital Group proactively or reactively tell its story through media and social channels and engagement with the online personal finance community.
**I AM THE PERSON CAPITAL GROUP IS LOOKING FOR.
**- You have at least 3 years of media relations experience and will be a key member in helping to develop and execute media relations strategies to support our business priorities and promote our products, services, and distinct investment approach to targeted media outlets.- You have superior relationship building experience.
This role will work with PR agencies and vendors to help execute on our PR programs and will proactively manage select relationship with key journalists.- You have excellent written and verbal communication skills and will be required to write a wide variety of communications including spokesperson briefings, press releases and other needed communications.- You will help ensure that measurement and reporting processes are in place to assess and provide new coverage results on a regular basis.- You demonstrate sound judgment in identifying and helping to resolve matters of sensitivity that could impact Capital Group's reputation.- You have PR experience in the asset management industry and/or a high level of curiosity to quickly learn.
